The incense is replaced with the smell of jasmine. The cold wind gives way to a light breeze. Lightly, child, lightly. In consequence it feels particularly encouraging to see TÍSCAR ESPADAS heading toward a chapter with a taste of dazzle – introducing some statuesque basic pieces. Through the collection are soft sanded twills, finest linen, Italian stripe cotton, silk wool tops and French deadstock denim, meanwhile the subtle, earthy color palette rotate from velvety olive green to virile cinnabar red. “After two years of transition – letting go - we finally set up everything here in Madrid – this moment of having again a stable base probably transmitted into the collection,” Espadas refers to. “From the perspective that we often design what we want to wear too – principally comfortable and elegant pieces which can be worn throughout the year - it’s maybe not a typical summer collection.”
