The central axis of Cuerpo Místico is the body, but inhabited in two very different ways. On the one hand, the superficial vision that society has of it, filling it with limitations, control and demands, while at the same time emptying it of expression and content. On the other hand, the sculptural body appears, the body of art, since it has been a representative motif, evoking the most human, purest and most sincere emotions.

Tíscar Espadas introduces their new collection "CAPÍTULO IV" for the first time at Madrid Fashion Week.
This show was made in their studio, at the neighbourhood of Quintana. On September 2022.

Characters from an incessant narration in which the ancient and the contemporary, the timeless, and the flight of one’s imagination overlap. The collection is a collection in perpetual creation. The heroes are characters who are half-divine, half-human, unique beings, models on which to project oneself. The always fascinating narration of their exploits, the myths, are outside any time in history and season, often interpret the origins of the world or major dilemmas in humanity.

With this collection, we turn regular men into mythical, timeless and unusual beings. Heroes from another world, one of creativity transformed into worldly and human fabric. Characters from an incessant narration in which the ancient and the contemporary, the timeless, and the flight of one’s imagination overlap.

Romeraje is a spanish word which means "pilgrimage, itinerant".
Our first stopover was in the heart of the city of Berne (Switzerland). Manifested in form of a small temporary store.

CAPÍTULO III is the entrance and meeting point between two different worlds. The transit and the valance between imaginary and reality. The divine and the earthly. A story loaded with symbolisms, searches and reminiscences of what the eternally human is.

CAPÍTULO III shows the frontier between the divine and the earthly, myths and humanity, spirituality and reason.

The collection CAPÍTULO II was presented at Tokyo Fashion Week through the premier of a video, also titled CHAPTER II, which symbolizes the continuation of the previous collection CHAPTER I. Each collection forms a new chapter within the same universe.

CAPÍTULO II - FIRST ACT video presentation was scheduled and presented as part of London Fashion Week through Fashion British Council.

Created in time where the traditional creation system was shaken and forced to look for new solutions. Capitulo II shows how boundaries can be bridged through imagination, desire and creativity in the searching for a common illusion.

This video was developed when London entered lockdown due to the pandemic and made in Spain.

Dreaming about dreams. Forgetting to close the door to the wonders of irrational thoughts. Construct your reality from scratches of your fears and your hopes. All Tíscar Espada’s universe comes from a sunny afternoon walking beside olive trees in south Spain to the rainy days of London, the connexions and bridges that she created in her head gave us this magical world into which we dare to enter without even knocking. Let us show you what the adventure of living freely and without fear feel like. Listen to the cicadas singing to the powerful Spanish sun. The wind caresses the burning land. The blood of all Spanish men washed by the women’s tears. All this history in one of a kind super 8 film.

Dedicated to that permanent journey from what we are to what we want to be.

A little project made just after lock down was lifted in London.

Body on paper is built as a work on the subtlety and fracture, fragility and strength of the bond that we establish with ourselves and with those around us.

2018-2019

Just like in a fantastic bestiary, this exhibition is the result of the collected remains of the trip itself, shows the construction of stories and characters, bringing us closer to the principal concept of identity. Our image identifies us, both equally hiding and revealing ourselves. It ties us to a certain group, it gives us a sense of belonging to a particular society or culture and at the same time, it makes us feel unique as individuals. Making us, perhaps, approach the ideal of what we would like to be.

Following the dynamics of those Renaissance princes who fascinated by knowledge, magic, and poetry, curated a collection of exotic and magical objects gathered in their "chamber of wonders", Tíscar Espadas, instead of collecting beauty, tries to shape it in different creative expressions from diverse languages.

February 2020

In addition to the fashion work, Tíscar develops another creative facet related to the world of drawing and illustration. She had worked illustrating for different fashion magazines, brands, books as well as for personal artbooks. Her painting had been exhibited in London, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Tokyo and Copenhagen.
